noasobi essey scene06“The Wanderer”

He has never accepted that there are limits to things .
His senses are constantly on the alert, and if anything catches his attention, he's off to investigate.

Everything interests him, and he'll go in any direction to seek it out.
For instance, let's say he comes across a clear stream.

His first impulse is to imagine what it would feel like to sleep by its
banks, curled up in a sleeping bag.

Will it be loud?
Will it be comfortable?
Or will it be terrifying?

Then he finds himself irresistibly drawn to investigate.

What's in the landscape? What plants?
What animals? What birds?

If the area meets his needs, he files the information away for later.
If not,he accepts it and moves on.

Because his mind works this way, he has a keen sense of direction.
Once he's been somewhere, he never forgets it.

No doubt he's gradually drawing his own personal map of the world.

The wanderer steadfastly makes his own way.
No doubt he's somewhere right now in some undiscovered place, opening his senses to the sounds of all creation.
