noasobi essey scene04“Source of Inspiration”

Hiroshi Yoshida was a woodblock print artist who gained the praise of the entire world for his work of mountains and fields.
One time I asked his son who was also a woodblock print artist named Hodaka Yoshida where he got inspirations.

After thinking for a bit, he answered.
"After a rainfall or in the early morning there are drops of water on the tips of flowers and grasses, but on sunny days,
I imagine something other than water. And when I do imagine, I am seized with the desire to touch them and even taste them."
And he added, "At least I think that's the way it is."

Even today, when I feel short on ideas, I remember what he said to me.
